Chaplain's Message

Children have been educated in the classrooms of St. Joseph Elementary School for more than seven decades, and not just ANY education but a Catholic education.

While learning the facts about the world around them through science and social studies, while acquiring skills in literacy and mathematics, and while pursuing athletic achievements and artistic skills, children have learned and are still learning that God is the author and creator of the world they study and experience.

We are confident in the school environment we have fostered to enable students to take their measured steps along the path of education and career preparation. We are even more confident, though, in the teaching of our Catholic faith, so that coming to know Jesus personally, children have a genuine desire to pray, serve, and love. We believe that if our children contemplate Jesus in the reading of the gospels they will grow in faith and prayer. We so desire that they meet Jesus here! We want to open their minds to know Jesus and we want to expand their hearts to love Jesus. A life lived for Jesus is a life lived contrary to the temptations of this age: narcissism and consumerism.

If we lead our children to Jesus and if they accept the new life Jesus offers them, we have a successful Catholic school.
